FRANCE - UNISSUED TEN FRANC ROBERT SCHUMANN COIN (G 825). - Lot 476
FRANCE - UNISSUED TEN FRANC ROBERT SCHUMANN COIN (G 825).
Portrait of the father of Europe, profile to the right, half illustrated with an "E" formed of 12 stars - Reverse: Stylized Gallic rooster by John Lobban.
Uncirculated. - 1986.
* this coin was part of a pair with the Jimenez ten-franc (G 824); too small and blending in with the 50-centime semeuse - The Jimenez ten-franc was overwhelmingly rejected by the population, to such an extent that it was demonetized less than six months after its release - Faced with this fact, the SCHUMANN TEN-Franc was not issued at all, and recast in its entirety.
