Organized by Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband and forerunner of the great world's fairs, the Queen attended 3 times with her family and 34 times on her own; six million visitors from all over the world flocked to admire the best the world had to offer. Profits from the exhibition were used to fund and found the Albert Museum, the Sciences Museum and the Nature History Museum. A series of medals were produced and awarded to exhibitors and service providers.
