"LE MARAIS NORD VENDEEN, PHOTOGRAPHIES DE JEAN CHALLET 1952-1965".
Remarkable testimony and reportage by a photographer touched by these places from childhood.
He saw it all, the incessant nuances of light, the wind, the ripples on the water...but above all the authentic reality of the people in this natural, less dry, more wooded place.
He recreates a past that has recently disappeared, with its workers, its paths, its "bourrines", the everyday gestures of this land of earth and water. 160 pages of dreamy text and photos - 23.5 x 16.5 cm.
The house pulled out of the ground, the interior of the bourrine, traffic through ditches and charrauds, the "gesture" of market gardening in Challans, the capital, local figures, craftsmen etc...
