Following the success of the 1st Colonial Exhibition in 1906, the Parc du Prado became the Parc Chanot, named after the mayor from 1902 to 1914. Marseille was keen to repeat a major exhibition as soon as possible, and to take advantage of the space available for such events.
An international exhibition with pavilions entirely dedicated to THE ELECTRIC FEE was a major factor in the public's enthusiasm, and in the presentation of cutting-edge companies who found it of great commercial interest. From April 19th to October 30th 1908, MARSEILLE was the international capital of electrical applications.
