Marie Margueritte Le Valois de Vilette de Mursay, comtesse de Calus, born in ECHIRE on April 17, 1671 and died in Paris on April 15, 1729. A French woman of letters and memoirist, niece of Madame de Maintenon, she made a name for herself at the court of Louis XIV with her graciousness and cheerful spirit. - An interesting memoir of her time - which brings to life life in Versailles - and of the life of Madame de Maintenon.
