SILVER - TOURS, Comice Agricole Populaire de l' Arrondissement, circa 1880 - Silver medal - Beautiful harvest scene, signed F. Vernon ( * ) - On the reverse: title with wheat sheaf in the center surrounded by vine leaves and grapes - On the edge mention silver and 950 thousandths + hallmark R F in a rhombus. - 40 mm - 32.16 grams. ( * ) FREDERIC de VERNON ( 1858 / 1912 ) - sculptor / medallist, first second grand prix de Rome 1881 and, in 1887, 1st grand prix de Rome in engraving of medals and fine stones, following which he spent three years at the Villa Médicis - Pupil of Chaplain, Professor of Pierre Turin.
