BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS - RARE POSTAL SET overprinted SPECIMEN : circa 1899, 1 penny red-brown stamp, Virgin and Child, printed on postcard. SPECIMEN: these overprints cancelled the document as a postal document, and these copies were sent as proof of issue to the Universal Postal Union in Bern. SPECIMENs from this period are rare, as only a very small number were produced.
