Commemorative postcard, 1944 issue, from the Association of Polish Philatelists in Great Britain, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Polish stamp 1919-1944.
Postage due English 1 penny red stamp bearing the effigy of King George VI, large commemorative cancel. Patriotic illustration on the left: "The warm reception of the Hun in LWOW", then a Polish town, now LVIV in the Ukraine, conquered after fierce fighting by the Nazis in September 1939. The illustration shows a destroyed Panzer tank amid the ruins of the town.
