All over France, thousands of photographers scoured their towns and villages to produce, over a period of ten years, a complete picture of the country and its people. In the Cantal region alone, around a hundred photographers took over 10,000 shots, which were sold in 300 outlets, most of them tobacconists, cafés and grocery stores. A touching work, which, with the help of 116 captioned and classified postcards from the period, recounts the daily life of this "1900" Auvergne, with its traditions, its modes of transport, its inns, its children, its interiors... the country. It's not a voluminous work, but it's one that will be passed on to future generations.
