Beautiful book 128 pages 24 x 31 cm bound in dust jacket. Traces the history of fishing villages and districts, illustrated with 220 old photos and postcards. The men are out fishing, and when the storm hits, their wives and children are in anguish. Death is present, and religion is their refuge. They roam the coast to harvest mussels and crabs, haul out boats, sell shrimp and sardines; sometimes they are fishmongers, shipowners... It's a whole world they tell us about, a world that will suddenly disappear to make way for other women: tourists and bathers.
