FRANCE - ROBERT SCHUMANN MINT (G 825). - Lot 370
FRANCE - ROBERT SCHUMANN MINT (G 825). Portrait of the father of Europe, profile to the right, half of it illustrated with an "E" formed of 12 stars - Reverse: stylized Gallic rooster by John Lobban. Uncirculated 1986. * This coin was part of a pair with the 10-franc Jimenez (G 824); too small to merge with the 50-centime semeuse in the cash registers, the 10-fr Jimenez was overwhelmingly rejected by the public, so much so that it was demonetized less than six months after its release. Faced with this situation, the DIX FRANCS SCHUMANN was not issued at all, and almost all of it was recast.
