FRANCE MILITARIA 1940 - BISCARROSSE / LANDES (40) - 2 letter - Lot 97
FRANCE MILITARIA 1940 - BISCARROSSE / LANDES (40) - 2 letters from S. Lt Varcin in training at the "COURS PRATIQUE de DEFENSE CONTRE LES AERONEFS". - The 2 letters to his brother, with their aviation-themed correspondence inside:
- December 12, 1939 - Lettre en Franchise Militaire, régimentaire cachet à la république assise " Cours Pratiques - le Major " & oblitération flamme Daguin " Biscarosse / sa plage / sa Forêt / ses lacs ". The correspondence recounts the fevers caused by vaccines and feelings about "modern" airplanes, which have extremely brutal reactions and in which "you can faint" on the 1st turn... Dangerous and potentially fatal even before you've completed your training ... quite comical when you consider that the author of the letter became an air force general....
- January 2, 1940 - Military Duty Free letter with another military postmark: "Cours Pratiques de Défense contre les Aéronefs - le vaguemestre". - same Daguin machine cancellation.
