In the aftermath of the 1870 war, Bougival enjoyed great renown. Balls, guinguettes and regattas attracted Parisians. The great painters (Monet, Sisley, Pissarro, Renoir...) set up their easels here. It was between the 2 World Wars that the city was transformed.
The author compares yesterday's image (postcard) with today's, with commentary.
