1914 / 1918 - La défense contre aéronefs du CAMP RETRANCHE de PARIS - Two very rare documents " Service Aéronautique du Camp retranché DU CHESNAY ". ( * ). - two Franchise Militaire letters addressed to Lyon - One dated August 16, 1916, railway ambulant cancellation "Vernon à Gisors" + CACHET REGIMENTAIRE, struck in blue - The other the same ambulant January 11, 1917 CACHET REGIMENTAIRE FRAPPE EN ROUGE; ( * ) - The aerial threat to the capital appeared very early in the conflict. Zeppelins were the first to bomb Paris in 1915, terrorizing the population. The defense plan consisted of 15 posts, each manned by very few men, with 2 special 75 mm cannons inclined at 40 degrees, 4 machine guns on special tripods pointing skywards, and floodlights for the night (see internet artillerie.asso).
