BARRE 78 rue du commerce in NEVERS for the TREFOUSSE factory in CHAUMONT (Haute Marne). Postage due 15 Francs Bleu GANDON (886) cancelled with the round double-circle stamp "Chambre de commerce et d'Industrie de la Nièvre". Note: This strike - one of the biggest of the post-war period - lasted from August 10 to 25, and affected the whole country in all areas of public service: post office, mines, trains, telephone, household refuse, etc.... The whole country was paralyzed, and the government was forced to cancel its austerity plan.
